The craze of trying out the one pot one shot recipes
seems to be more now. Today as it is Adi 18th, an auspicious day I
thought I will try out the sakkarai Pongal in the pressure cooker without the
usual hard ball consistency of the jiggery that we use. I had heard and seen
people trying this out for a long time, but never had the conviction that it
would come as perfectly as the regular method of cooking. Finally, I did give in
and here is the most simple method of trying out this fabulous dish
INGREDIENTS
Raw
Rice

Green
gram dal
|

tbsp
|
Jaggery
|
1
cup
|
Water
|
11/2
cup
|
Milk
|
1/4
cup
|
Ghee
|
1/4
cup
|
Cashew
|
1/4
cup
|
Raisins
|
2tbsp
|
PREPARATION
Soak the rice and dal in enough water for 1 hour.
Drain after an hour. Keep aside
In a 2 lt pressure cooker add all the ingredients
Cook at 600W for 15 minutes
Let the pressure release completely.
Then mash it well and serve warm
I added some fried cashew and raiains to decorate it before serving
