Most of the days , the weather in Chennai is hot.
Since we have a very humid climate , generally we like to drink lot of
buttermilk. It does help during the very hot seson to keep the body temperature
down. We like to have as plain curds, Sweet lassi, Cucumber lassi, Peach lassi
and also salt lassi and our traditional Neer Moru.When making salt lassi I add
this chaas Masala , the recipe of which I use for Maayeka.. The taste and the
flavour on adding this masala takes the buttermilk to a whole new level. Do try

PREPARATION
Dry roast pepper corn, coriander seeds and cumin
seeds in a pan in low heat till a good flavour emanates
Let it cool completely
Transfer this to a mixture jar and grind it into a
smooth powder
Now add the other ingredients and grind everything
to a smooth powder.
Store it in an airtight container
To make masala chaas, add 1 tbsp of this powder to a
glass of buttermilk. Add more salt if necessary.
Mix well and serve
