Vangibath Powder

For the second day of regional recipes, I have chosen to blog about vangibath powder which is a speciality of Karnataka. We use this powder to make vangibath and some times we use this as a curry powder in some curries.
INGREDIENTS

Bengal gram dal
1/2 cup
Black gram dal
1/2 cup
Coriander seeds
1/4 cup
Cinnamon
2” piece
Clove
10
Cardamom
2
Red chillies(byadige)
25
Dry coconut powder
2tbsp
Poppy seeds
2 tbsp
Oil
2 tbsp
Curry leaves
few
 
PREPARATION
Dry roast the coconut powder and keep it aside
In the pan add oil and saute the red chillies and curry leaves till the chillies puff up. Transfer this to a mixer jar
Now in the same pan add all other ingredients and saute till the dal starts to brown and transfer this to the mixer jar as well
Now ad the dry coconut to this and grind everything to a smooth powder.

Transfer this to an air tight box and store it and use when required
