In a pan dry roast the broken wheat rava till a good smell emanates.

Now heat the oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. Once this starts to splutter add the dals and asafoetida and saute for a few seconds. Now add the curry leaves
Now add the ground paste and cook on low flame for a few seconds.

Add the water slowly as it tends to splutter.

Once it starts boiling, reduce the flame and slowly add the rava, mixing continuously

Cover with a plate and let it cook till all the moisture is absorb.

This will approximately take 5 minutes
Once all the water is absorbed, switch off the fire and let the mixture cool down

Before it cools down completely, make tight oblong balls as shown, arrange these on the steaming plate of a steamer

Steam it for 8-10 minutes.

Let it sit for another 5 minutes for it to slightly cool down. Now transfer this to a serving dish and serve with chutney of your choice. I served it with thakkali thokku
