Dal Tadka


Hi
For the third day of Restaurant Menu we move from starter to main course. This is another flavourful dal, simple and very delicious.
INGREDIENTS
Tuvar dal
1/4 cup
Masoor dal
1/4 cup
Onion
1
Tomato
1
Green chillies
2
Cinnamon
1/2 inch
Cloves
2
Ginger garlic paste
1tsp
Coriander powder
1tsp
Cumin powder
1/2tsp
Garam masala
1tsp
Turmeric powder
1/4tsp
Chilli powder
1/2tsp
Kasuri Methi
1tbsp
Curry leaves
few
Coriander
1tbsp
Butter
1tbsp
Cumin seeds
1/2tsp
Fresh cream
1 Tbsp

PREPARATION
Cut the onion , tomato and green chillies finely
Heat butter in a cooker, add cumin seeds. When it starts to sizzle , add cinnamon and cloves and saute for 1 minute
Now add the chopped onion and saute till it  becomes transparent and then add the ginger garlic paste and then the cut tomatoes and chillies and saute till the tomato becomes a little soft
Now add the the turmeric powder,chilli powder, coriander powder,cumin powder and garam masala
Now put the 2 dals into this, mix well. Add 2cups of water, close the lid, put the weight on and  cooker uupto 4 whistles
Now the pressure is released, open the cooker carefully, add salt, cooker on slow fire and mash till everything comes together .
Add cream , mix well and now add the kasuri methi.
Switch off the fire

Serve warm with roti!!
