French Baguette

 For this month of Tame the yeast, the second bread was suggested by Pradyna. I loved baking this bread . It formed a lovely brown crust and had a great texture too. Thank you Pradyna!!
All purpose flour  2 cups
Honey                    1tbsp
Salt                           1tsp
Instant yeast             1tsp
Warm water             nearly 3/4 cup
Oil                            1tsp
Ice cubes                  1 cup

Ina large bowl, add the flour, yeast, salt and mix we;;
Add honey to this and mix again.
Now add 1/2 cup of water and mix it till it forms a crumbly dough.
Gradually add 1tsp of water at a time while kneading it simultaneously
Now knead the dough for nearly 10 minutes till it becomes soft and pliable
Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise for nearly an hour in a warm place

After you have shaped the dough let it rise again . Keep it loosely covered for 30-40 minutes.
Apply oil or egg wash for the bread
Make slits superficially
Preheat the oven to 230C for 10 minutes
Keep the ice cubes in a oven safe dish in the bottom rack and keep the baguette in the top rack.
For 10 minutes it will steam and bake
Now remove the ice cubes tray carefully without spilling the water if any and continue to bake for 10 minutes more or till it browns evenly
Serve with soup of the Red pepper dip I served with!!
