For the week 3 of BM, I have chosen the theme legumes and nuts for kids lunch box. Kids some time love to have some spicy dish for their snack box and this peanut sundal is perfect for that
Fresh peanuts 1 cup
Onion 1 small
Tomato 1 small
Turmeric powder a pinch
Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder 1/4 tsp
Garam masala 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
Cook the peanuts in cooker with 1/4 cup of water and 1/2 tsp of salt
Drain the excess water
Cut the onion and tomato finely
Heat oil in a pan. when sufficiently hot add the mustard seeds. Once the start to crackle add the onions and saute till it becomes transparent.
Now add the tomato and continue to cook for few minutes
Now add the turmeric, chilli powder, garam masala and salt.(Add little salt as you have already added it to the peanut too) Mix well and continue to cook
Now add the cooked peanuts, mix well ans cook for 1 minute
Now switch off the fire
Serve warm or cold...it tastes yummy!!!
