Carrot Masala Chapathi

Finally back home after a lovely trip and a family wedding. Time to blog now with a simple tasty recipe.A quick chapathi recipe with a few tasty add on's. For this month Ramya is paired with me for Shhh cooking secretly challenege and the secret ingredients that were suggested by her was Carrot and Flour. I substituted the flour with whole wheat flour and rolled out this yummy chapathi.

Whole wheat flour       1 cup
Carrots                       3
Chilli powder              1tsp
Dhaniya powder         1tsp
Cumin powder             1tsp
Garam Masala             1tsp
Salt                             1/2 tsp or to taste
Coriander                    1tbsp
Oil                               2tsp

Grate the carrots finley and run it in a mixie for 1 minute
Add all the dry powders to the flour
Mix in the grated carrots. MIx well
Now add just enough water and knead it into a soft pliable dough. Apply oil and knead it. Cover it and let it rest.
Take small balls of this kneaded dough. Roll it into thin discs dusting with more flour if necessary
Heat a tawa and put one chapathi on it. When small bubbles start appearing, flip it on the othet side and let it cook too. Drizzle 1/2 tsp oil all around and when it starts to brown flip on the other side.
When both the sides are evenly cooked, take it out.
Make all the chapathis the same way
Serve warm with a subzi of your choice
