Thair Saadam / Curd Rice

Curd rice in hot summer is a must in the lunch box of my kid. Summer is quite harsh here and the curd rice does have a soothing effect on your body. But the trick is to mix it in such a way that the the curd does not turn sour. So here are some simple tips to make delicious curd rice.
INGREDIENTS
Cooked rice       1/2 cup
Milk                   1/4 cup or more
Curd                  2tsp
Carrot                2tbsp(Shredded)
Oil                     1tsp
Mustard             1/2 tsp
Asafoetida          1/4 tsp
Fresh cream        2tsp(optional)
Green chilly         1(Optional)
Coriander            1tsp(Optional)
Curry leaves        few(Optional)
Pomegranate       few seeds(optional)
Salt                     2 pinches

PREPARATION
Cook the rice with more water than you regularly cook. It should be mushy.
Add the milk and mash it well.
Now add the fresh cream and the little curd.
Mix well
Now heat oil in a pan.
Add mustard seeds, once the splutter add the asafoetida, grated carrot and green chilly.
Saute for a minute and switch off the fire
Add it to the prepared rice
Mix in all the other ingredients
Mix well and pack the lunch box with any vegetable or a pickle
NOTE:
Add more curd only if you are planning to eat it immediately
The ingredients that are mentioned as optional are not necessary for a kids lunch box but when added do give a lovely taste and flavour
Addition of fresh cream makes it rich and tasty
Some add a little butter too
