Pizza in all forms is welcomed by my daughter and today it was the turn of these twisties. Little crisp on the outside and with the yummy filling in between the twist was relished by all.
All purpose flour 2 cups
Active dry yeast 2tsp
Sugar 1/2 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Olive oil 1tbsp
Water nearly 1 cup
FOR THE FILLING
Green bell pepper 1/2
Yellow bell pepper 1/2
Pizza seasoning 2tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Pizza sauce 2tbsp
Mozarella 3-4 Tbsp
In a bowl take 1/2 cup of luke warm water, add sugar and yeast to it. Mix well and keep it aside for the yeast to froth up for 10-15 minutes in a warm place
Take the flour in a big bowl, add slat to it.
Pour the yeast water to it and mix well.
Add just enough from the other 1/2 cup of remaining water to mix the dough
Now add the olive oil to it and mix well.
Transfer this dough to a well floured wooden board and knead for 10 minutes so that we get a soft pliable dough.
Transfer this to a well oiled bowl. Cover it with a kitchen towel. Let it rest in a warm place for 45minutes to 1 hour for the dough to double.
Cut all the vegetables finely
Take out the dough.Make it into 2 portions. Roll out each into a rectangle and not very thick
Take one rectangular sheet, apply the pizza sauce evenly over the entire surface, put all the vegetables on it evenly, grate the mozzarella over it,sprinkle the pizza seasoning, cover it with the other rectangle, press all around
Now with a pizza cutter slice into 1 1/2 inch pieces along the short side
Take each cut piece, twist it slightly and arrange it on a baking sheet
Arrange all the twisted pieces beside each other
Preheat the oven to 200C
When the oven is sufficiently hot, apply olive poil to the surface of these twisted sticks and bake them for 25-30 minutes, till the surface starts to brown
Let it cool on a wire rack
Apply butter on the hot twisties
Serve warm !!
