Hi
For the third week of
Blogging Marathon #18, I decided to go with the theme"Dry Saute".Ivy Gourd as it is otherwise known can be cooked in a number of ways and we like with it with that extra dhal mixture that is added to enhance the flavour and texture,
INGREDIENTS
Ivy gourd 1 cup(cut into small pieces lengthwise)
Salt to taste
Mustard 1tsp
Oil 2 tsp
For the Dhal Mixture
Coriander seeds 3 tsp
Blackgram dhal 1 tsp
Bengal gram dhal 1 tsp
Redchillies 2-3
PREPARATION
Cut the vegetable into very thin pieces.
Cook it in Microwave for 5 mins(closed).Keep it aside. Alternatively you can cook on stove top too.
Heat a pan with 1 tsp oil and fry the ingredients under the dhal mixture, till golden brown. Let it cool. Then grind it into a coarse powder .
In the same pan add 1 tsp oil, add the mustard seeds. When it splutters, add the cooked vegetable. Sprinkle the salt and mix well.
Let it cook for 3 minutes
Now put the ground mixture, mix well and switch off the fire.
Serve with rice and rasam...a great combo
