Continuing with my journey with "delicious Dal" for Blogging marathon, today i am here with another dal recipe. The masala in this is very flavourful but subtle. The addition of coriander and cumin seeds gives a different taste to this Dal.
Adapted from Tarla Dalal
Tuar dhal 2 tbsp
Green Gram dal 2 tbsp
Masoor dhal 2 tbsp
Black gram dhal 2 tbsp

Red chillies 4
Garlic 2 cloves
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp

Grind all the ingredients under the masala paste to a fine paste. Keep it aside
Wash all the dal's together and pressure cook it with enough water upto 3-4 whistles. The dal should have mashed well.
Slice the onions and cut the tomato and chilly finely
Heat a pan with oil and ad the cumin seeds. When it sizzles add the onions and saute it well.
When it turns transparent add the cut chillies and saute for 1 minute
Now add the masala paste to this and mix well. Cook for 5 minutes in a very low flame.
Now you have to put the cut tomatoes in this and mix well. Continue to cook till the tomatoes turns mushy
Add the cooked dal, salt to this and mix well.
Continue to cook in a very low flame so that all the flavour is evenly distributed.
