Methi Mutter Malai and My First Event announcement

Hi

Peas....Yes..in season now and i have stored loads of it in the freezer. Though my daughter is not a great fan of this vegetable , she somehow seems to like this particular preparation. It is way different without the usual tomatoes in any gravy.Methi in it gives that nice flavour.
INGREDIENTS
Green peas 1 cup
Methi leaves 3/4 cup
Milk 1/2 cup
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Cream 2-3 tbsp
Oil 1 tbsp
Salt to taste

FOR THE MASALA
Onion 1
Green chilli 1
Ginger 1/2" piece
Garlic 1 clove
Cashew nuts 1 tbsp
Poppy seeds 2tsp
Oil 1 tsp
PREPARATION
Heat a pan and dry roast the cashew and poppy seeds.Transfer it to a plate and keep it aside. Now add1 tsp oil to the same pan and saute the onion till transparent. Add the garlic and chilli and saute for a minute.Let it cool. Grind all these ingredients with ginger into a smooth paste.

Wash the methi leaves, add 1/2 tsp of salt and keep it aside. After 10 minutes squeeze it and it is ready to use. This process removes the biter taste from the leaves.

Boil the peas either in stove top method or microwave and keep it aside.

In a pan heat 1 tbsp of oil and fry the prepared paste till the raw flavor goes away. See to it that it does not change colour.

Add milk cream and sugar and continue to cook in a very low flame for 5 minutes till everything comes together.

Now add the peas and methi leaves and salt and cook for another 5-7 minutes in medium flame continuously stirring.

Rich creamy side dish ready to be served with any Indian bread
