Eggless Black Forest Cake

Bidding Adieu to 2011....a strange felling..mixed emotions!!!!The year 2011has been an amazing journey which has given me so many opportunities to learn and share as a blogger,and and great journey in my personal life too:-).I should thank God for giving me such a great family and friends who have been with me all along the journey.As I was thinking of winding up this year with an early post..I got my first commercial order for cookies!!!!!!!Thank you KK, Mahesh and Shyam for encouraging me!!!!!For the finale of this Baking Marathon I have baked Black Forest cake!!!!!!!!!!!
INGREDIENTS
All purpose flour 3/4 cup
Condensed milk 1/2 Tin
Baking powder 1/2 tsp
Cooking soda 1/2 tsp
Butter 2 tbsp
Cocoa powder 2 tbsp
Sugar 2 tbsp(powdered)
Aerated water 1/2 cup
For the topping
Fresh cream 1/3 cup
Icing sugar 2/3 cup
Glazed Cherries few
FOR THE SUGAR SYRUP
Sugar 1/4 cup
Water 1/4 cup
PREPARATION
Preheat the oven to 190C
Line the muffin Tray with liners .
Sift the flour,cooking Soda,Baking Powder powdered sugar and cocoa in a bowl and keep it aside.
Beat butter and condensed milk together till creamy and fluffy.
Now add the sifted flour mixture to this and beat till it mixes properly.
When all the dry flour has been mixed properly add the aerated water, mix quickly and immediately spoon it into the lined muffin tray upto 3/4 its height
Bake for 15-20 minutes or till done(Insert a skewer to test the doneness)
Take it out and cool on a wire rack
TO MAKE THE TOPPING
Beat the fresh cream and icing sugar together till you get a peak consistency. It is always better to beat fresh cream kept on a bowl of ice. Refrigerate this.
TO MAKE THE SUGAR SYRUP
Boil the sugar and water together till the sugar dissolves. Switch off the fire and let it cool
ASSEMBLY
Soak the cake with the sugar syrup and let it cool in the refrigerator for 10 minutes
Take it out and pipe the topping on it with a cherry to top it.
Now you have created an awesome dessert.
